Your writing, and your life, will be good and get better if you just take it word by word, says Anne Lamott in this live seminar recording that won a 1997 Audie Award for Best Educational/How-to Audiobook. Based on Lamott's acclaimed book Bird by Bird, this workshop was recorded at a presentation given for the Writers' League of Texas.
If you're a writer, you need this audiobook. The sound of Lamott's voice will cheer you on in your darkest hours. WORD BY WORD is a live recording of one of Lamott's writing workshops. Lamott's voice drones a bit, but her humor, sincerity and wisdom make up for it. In this workshop, where she engages with real listeners and even conducts a short question-and-answer session, her vocal quality doesn't matter a whit because she's the real thing--a successful writer--and she shares invaluable nuggets of wisdom about writing and the writing life.
